Mathnasium Student Yael Marler Recognized by Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth

Jun 16, 2015

At Mathnasium, nothing makes us happier than seeing our students reach their potential and achieve academic success. We're so thrilled and proud to share that Yael Marler, a student at Mathnasium of Lake Mary, was recently honored as one of the brightest young students in the world at a regional awards ceremony for academically advanced children sponsored by the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth.

On June 6th, Yael and her family traveled to Yale University for the ceremony, where Yael was recognized for her exceptional performance on a rigorous, above-grade-level test given to academically talented second-through-eighth-grade students. Yael's father Stephen credits Mathnasium and instructor Meg Byfield in particular for putting Yael on this path. "Mathnasium played a huge role as she wanted to go because of Meg and Mathnasium trained her in math so that she did so well on the test."

Meg, a current Yale University student, was present at the ceremony, and gave Yael a tour of the campus afterwards. Yael loved her time in New Haven, and hopes to return as a student in the near future! She's about to enter the third grade, and is transferring to a STEM magnet school, so she's on a wonderful path to success.

Congratulations on your outstanding achievement, Yael! We're so proud!
