Did you know this year, NAPLAN is earlier than ever? Formerly in May, this year (and moving forward) NAPLAN will be in March. This year, NAPLAN will take place between 15 - 27 of March.
So what has changed and what will be on NAPLAN in 2023?
This change in date means that Practice testing will be open from the start of Term 1, right as children return back to school.
NAPLAN tests all students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 and runs each year.
The NAPLAN 2023 Test will include 4 subtopics:
Writing – students will be given a specific idea or topic and be asked to create a piece, either narrative or persuasive writing.
Reading – students will be given a range of texts to read and some comprehension questions.
Conventions of language – This test assesses spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Numeracy – This test assesses numbers and algebra, measurement and geometry, and statistics and probability.
The numeracy test will be completed last, and will close of NAPLAN for 2023.
