Arthur Welch
Center Director
Arthur earned his Master’s in Mathematics Education from LSU. He taught high school and junior high in Louisiana, then college algebra in the DFW area, before returning to high school math in Fort Worth ISD. In 2017 he joined Mathnasium of Grand Prairie after‑school and became Center Director in January 2022. Each day, Arthur aims to make math lessons effective, engaging, and encouraging so students develop an intuitive understanding of math.
Arthur believes every student can succeed when they feel supported and enjoy the learning process. His goal is to ensure students leave sessions feeling more confident and capable.
Dawn Mitchell
Assistant Center Director
Dawn earned her degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Reading with a specialization in Mathematics. She began her career in Arlington ISD as an elementary teacher, then worked as a mathematics instructional coach and school counselor. Dawn joined Mathnasium as an instructor in December 2017, and after seeing the positive change in students’ math performance and confidence, moved into leadership roles.
Outside of Mathnasium, Dawn enjoys traveling, being with family and friends, and caring for her dog Charlie Brown. Mathnasium Grand Prairie remains one of her joy‑filled places.
Abieyuwa Musa
Assistant Center Director
Abieyuwa graduated Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Sociology (Winter 2021). She hopes to continue her education toward a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and eventually open a practice focused on children and adolescents.
She is a big Los Angeles Lakers fan and loves basketball, drama or sci-fi shows like Umbrella Academy or Supernatural. In her free time, Abieyuwa enjoys dancing, painting, listening to music, watching movies, and embracing every chance to learn or grow.
Arielle King
Lead Instructor
Arielle is a senior in high school who has completed Algebra 1 & 2, Precalculus, and AP Calculus. She aspires to pursue a college degree in Animal Science and Biochemistry. Arielle loves helping students feel better about their day by helping them understand and succeed in math.
She also enjoys volleyball, soccer, music, and dancing outside of class. Her enthusiasm and kindness help create a classroom environment where students feel supported and excited to learn.
Majd Daoud
Lead Instructor
Majd is a college sophomore studying to earn his Bachelor’s in Education. He enjoys cooking, working out, hiking, and being outdoors. Majd believes in building relationships with students and helping them learn in ways that make sense to each individual.
He views teaching as a chance to empower young people with confidence in their math skills. Majd’s favorite part of being a Lead Instructor is seeing students try new things, embrace challenges, and celebrate their progress.

Education: Senior at the University of Texas at Arlington, majoring in Information Systems.
Math Education/Future Endeavors: Math education has played a big role in shaping how I think- it's taught me to approach problems logically and break down complex ideas into manageable steps. As I pursue a career in technology and business, I am confident these problem-solving skills will continue to serve me well. Whether it's through data analysis, coding, or working with clients, the foundation I've built through teaching and learning math will always be a key part of my journey.
