• Why do you require an assessment for enrollment?

  The diagnostic assessment serves to identify each student’s current skill level, knowledge gaps, and learning goals, so we can design a plan tailored to their specific needs.  

  Understanding each student’s unique approach to math helps us adjust instruction to their learning style and pace and empower them to unlock their true potential. 

• How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of Almaden, we do not follow a traditional curriculum. We use our proprietary approach called the Mathnasium Method™, which combines personalized learning plans with proven teaching techniques to develop solid foundations for math mastery.  

  Our approach builds on each student’s existing knowledge, addressing the gaps in their understanding and introducing new concepts gradually and in a logical sequence. • Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

  No, all learning takes place during sessions at our center. We do not assign extra homework, so students can focus and make meaningful progress while they’re with us. 

• Does Mathnasium of Almaden prepare students for math on standardized tests?

  Yes, Mathnasium of Almaden helps students get ready for math on standardized tests such as state exams, the SAT®, and ACT®.
