• Where is Mathnasium of Montclair located?

  Mathnasium of Montclair is located at 491 Bloomfield Avenue, Suite 101, Montclair, NJ 07042, near the corner of Bloomfield Avenue and N. Fullerton Avenue. You’ll find us close to Qahwah Coffee and directly across the street from Bareburger. 

  We proudly serve students from Montclair and surrounding areas including Glen Ridge and Cedar Grove. Local schools supported include:

• Does Mathnasium of Montclair offer online tutoring?

  Yes, Mathnasium of Montclair offers both in-center and online tutoring.  

  All our students receive face-to-face instruction in a supportive group environment and work with the same caring tutors, whether they choose to attend in person or online. 

• Is there a difference between online and in-person tutoring?

  No, the experience is designed to be consistent across both formats.   

  Online students follow the same customized learning plans and work directly with the specially trained tutors they would meet at our Montclair center. 

• What math classes can your Montclair tutors help with?

  We can help students learn and master any PreK–12 math class or topic, from counting and number sense to Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and beyond.

  Mathnasium of Montclair offers exceptional value through a flat monthly membership with a one-time enrollment fee. Most students attend two to three times per week.

• Is there a difference between the cost of online and in-center math tutoring?

  There is no difference! Membership pricing is the same for all students, whether they choose to attend sessions online, in person, or use a hybrid approach. 

• Why do you require an assessment for enrollment?

  The diagnostic assessment serves to identify each student’s current skill level, knowledge gaps, and learning goals, so we can design a plan tailored to their specific needs.  

  Understanding each student’s unique approach to math helps us adjust instruction to their learning style and pace and empower them to unlock their true potential. 

• How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of Montclair, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary approach that combines personalized learning plans with proven instructional techniques to help students truly understand and even enjoy math.   

  Following this approach, our specially trained tutors build on students' existing knowledge, introducing new concepts step-by-step to gradually increase their mathematical thinking, while developing lasting confidence and competence in math. 

• Do you work with advanced students or students who are struggling with math?

  Both! We support students of all skill levels, whether they are looking to catch up, keep up, or are ready to get ahead on their math journey.   

  Students who are struggling with math receive caring, targeted instruction to (re)build foundational skills and confidence. Advanced learners enjoy personalized enrichment opportunities designed to challenge their thinking and deepen their understanding. 

• Do you work with homeschooled students in Montclair?

  We welcome students from all educational backgrounds, including public, private, charter, and homeschool programs, throughout Montclair, Glen Ridge, Cedar Grove, and nearby areas.

  Yes, our tutors will set aside time during each session to help students with their homework, ensuring they feel prepared and confident in class. 

• Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

  No, we do not assign additional homework. All learning takes place during sessions, so students can stay focused and engaged. 

• Does Mathnasium of Montclair prepare students for standardized math tests?

  Yes. Mathnasium of Montclair helps students prepare for school-based and standardized math tests, including state assessments, PSAT®, SAT®, and ACT®. Our test prep includes personalized learning plans, targeted practice, and strategies to strengthen math skills and test performance.
