About This Center

Mathnasium is a learning center where students go to catch up, keep up, and get ahead in math.  We are highly specialized; we teach only math.

 

Students attend two to three times a week--for about an hour each visit.  Our goal is to enhance your child’s math skills, improve understanding of math concepts and raise overall school performance. At the same time, we build confidence, yielding overwhelming results.

Math tutoring experts developed the Mathnasium Method from 30 years of hands-on instruction.  This curriculum helps to eliminate frustration with math by presenting concepts to a student in a way that makes sense to them.

 

 

 

Number Sense

 

 

Children don’t hate math.  They hate being confused and intimidated by math.

 

Number Sense helps the student understand the relationships of numbers enabling improved mental computation and a clearer understanding of the basis behind the mathematical algorithms.

 

You are probably asking yourself, “What exactly is Number Sense?”  The best way to explain “Number Sense” is to provide some examples at various grade levels.  Try to answer these questions mentally – without pencil and paper – and then compare your approach with those shown at the link below!
