Ryan brings over 22 years of math teaching and tutoring experience to Mathnasium. He holds a B.A. in Mathematics from UMass Dartmouth, where he also worked as a tutor. His instructional style focuses on identifying student needs quickly, strengthening their foundations, and promoting problem-solving strategies over memorization.
Ryan has taught at Sylvan Learning Center, Dartmouth High School, and Brockton High School. He’s passionate about helping students gain confidence and succeed through clear instruction and personalized learning plans.
Elijah Penny
Center Director
Elijah holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and uses his problem-solving skills to make math more relatable for students. He has three years of teaching experience and joined Mathnasium after eight months as an instructor.
Known for his patient and playful approach, Elijah helps students build confidence and critical thinking skills. He’s passionate about showing learners how math connects to real-world challenges and empowering them to tackle problems with clarity and curiosity.

Brandy has 18 years of math teaching experience in Texas and holds a Bachelor's degree in Math Education. She joined Mathnasium in 2023 and says it’s the best job she’s ever had.

Associate Center Director
Paul is an Associate Center Director at Mathnasium with a background in engineering and small business ownership. He spent many years in the boatbuilding industry before transitioning to education, teaching math at a charter school prior to joining Mathnasium in 2024.
Paul appreciates Mathnasium’s focus on building number sense and conceptual understanding rather than memorization. He believes strong math skills open doors for students academically and beyond. Outside the center, Paul lives in Portsmouth with his wife and their dog, Nellie.
