• Where is Mathnasium of Woodlake located?

  Mathnasium of Woodlake is located in the Hancock Village Shopping Center on Hull Street, right next to Maglio's Pizza.  

  We proudly serve families from Chesterfield and the surrounding areas. Students attend Chesterfield County Public Schools. Local schools we support include:

• Does Mathnasium of Woodlake offer online tutoring?

  Yes! Mathnasium of Woodlake provides both in-center and online tutoring. Whether students join us in person or online, they receive personalized, face-to-face instruction from the same specially trained tutors in a supportive and engaging group environment.

• Is there a difference between online and in-person tutoring?

  No, whether attending online or in-center, all our students receive the same quality of live face-to-face instruction.    

  Online students follow the same personalized learning plans and receive the same caring support from our specially trained tutors as their peers who attend Mathnasium in person. 

• What math classes can your Woodlake tutors help with?

  We help K–12 students master a wide range of math classes and topics, from early arithmetic to Algebra and Geometry. 

  We follow learning plans that are tailored to each student’s unique learning needs and style, so they can receive focused instruction and make meaningful progress toward their goals. 

• Is there a minimum age required to attend Mathnasium of Woodlake?

  At all Temple Ventures centers, we require students to be able to read well enough to work on their own, and to be able to stay focused for the duration of their hour-long visit. If a parent isn't sure whether their child is ready for Mathnasium, we're happy to talk with them and have them come in to the center for a trial visit. 

• What does mathematics tutoring cost at Mathnasium of Woodlake?

  Mathnasium of Woodlake provides premium value through a flat monthly membership and a one-time enrollment fee.   

  Most students attend two to three times per week. After a diagnostic assessment, we design a personalized learning plan with recommended session frequency based on your child’s goals.

• Is there a difference between the cost of online and in-center math tutoring?

  No. Whether students attend sessions in person, online, or a mix of both, the membership cost remains the same.

• Why do you require an assessment for enrollment?

  At Mathnasium of Woodlake, students begin the enrollment process with a diagnostic assessment designed to help us identify their learning style, needs, and goals.    

  Using assessment-based insights, we create a learning plan that will help them truly understand and even start to enjoy math, making meaningful progress at their own pace. 

• How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of Woodlake, we don’t use a standard curriculum. Instead, we apply the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines structure with flexibility. Each student receives a personalized learning plan based on their skills and pace. 

  Our approach helps students understand how math works, building confidence, encouraging logical thinking, and laying the groundwork for long-term mastery. 

• Do you work with advanced students or with students who are struggling with math?

  We support students of all skill levels, whether they’re trying to catch up, stay on track, or get ahead. 

  Students who are behind in math class benefit from targeted instruction and confidence-building support. Advanced learners are challenged with enrichment activities that deepen their understanding and keep them engaged. 

• Do you work with homeschooled students in Woodlake?

  Yes! We welcome students from public, private, and homeschool settings across Chesterfield County and surrounding communities.

• Do you help students with their math homework?

  Yes. During each session, our tutors can set aside time to help students with their math homework, ensuring they understand the material and can apply it confidently.

• Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

  No. All learning takes place during sessions with our specially trained tutors. We do not assign homework, allowing students to stay focused and make real progress while at the center.

• Does Mathnasium of Woodlake prepare students for math on standardized tests?

  Yes, Mathnasium of Woodlake helps students get ready for math on standardized tests such as state exams, the SAT®, and ACT®.  

  Our program combines targeted practice with problem-solving strategies, as well as confidence-building support, so students perform their best on test day and beyond.
