We’ve created the January Maths Goals Tracker to make goal-setting fun, visual, and completely achievable. It’s a simple one-page printable where students pick three maths goals for the year, track their progress day by day, and reflect on what they’ve achieved.
GETTING STARTED
Start with a few simple goals
Using our “My Maths Resolutions” worksheet, sit down with your child and chat about what they’d like to work on this year. These goals don’t need to be big or complicated - they just need to matter to them. It might be improving times tables, taking more care when checking answers, or feeling confident enough to ask for help. The aim is to keep goals realistic, personal, and motivating.
Keep track as you go
The tracker includes a daily box your child can colour in each time they practise, attend a session, or work towards one of their goals. Seeing progress build up over time can be a great confidence booster.
Check in regularly
Time moves quickly, so it’s important to pause and reflect. At the end of each month, encourage your child to think about what went well, what they’re proud of, and what they’d like to focus on next. It’s a simple way to celebrate effort and keep moving forward.
