Mathnasium Math Nights
Oct 14, 2021
![]() |
A Mathnasium Math Night helps kids explore math at their own level through exciting games and activities for families that have been developed by Mathnasium in conjunction with National PTA (tested and approved by kids and parents too)! Math Night is a turn-key program hosted by a local Mathnasium center at your facility. We’ll bring all the games, materials, and fun -- all you have to do is prepare the space, provide the volunteers, and promote the event! National PTA has even created a step-by-step Math Night toolkit with 5 simple steps to host a successful event, but you don't have to be a PTA to host one of our awesome Math Nights!
What are Math Nights?
-
A math event hosted jointly by Mathnasium and local parent groups (both PTAs AND non-PTA groups) for K-5th grade students
-
An opportunity to involve families in a fun, enjoyable shared math experience
-
Easy programming -- Mathnasium provides all games and materials for turn-key execution
-
Encouragement and empowerment for kids of all backgrounds to pursue a love of math and STEM education
-
Math exploration for kids at their own levels through games and activities
How Does a Math Night Work?
Each child and adult pair attending the Math Night will receive a “Passport”, with 10 numbered stars, one for each of the 10 activity stations. Children and parents should visit each of the 10 corresponding game stations and play the game at the station together. After the family plays the math game at a station, the volunteer at the station marks the numbered star on the “Passport” and the family proceeds to another exciting station! Attendees do not need to visit the stations in order, and they are welcome to revisit stations they loved! Once the attendees have a passport with all stars marked, they will visit the “Rewards” table to trade their “Passport” for a goody bag (students) and to enter a giveaway drawing (adults)!
