Our Team

Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn! Read below to learn more about our talented team:


Archi, Center Director 

Archi is the Center Director at Mathnasium of Chula Vista, Mira Mesa, and Scripps Ranch.  She has a B.S in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Environmental Engineering with a certification in PMP, and her favorite math topic is algebra.  Having struggled with math as a child, Archi is enthusiastic about helping every child in her communities to truly understand math by teaching it in a way that makes sense to them. She has taught and tutored children of all ages, and she is committed to bringing quality math enrichment to the children in the community, and has been actively doing so for the past five years. A mother of two as well as educator, Archi is passionate about education and devotes her free time to volunteering in public schools.  

Lexy, Assistant Center Director

Lexy is the Assistant Center Director at Mathnasium of Chula Vista. She is a trained journalist with a background in Communications, but has always had a passion for all things math. She has a particular zeal for Algebra, Calculus, Geometry and Applied Mathemathics, which led her to pursue a major in Economics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Despite achieving her degree out of state, she grew up in San Diego and graduated from Torrey Pines High School. Lexy has several years of tutoring experience across all age levels and subjects. When not supporting students at Mathnasium, she enjoys teaching ESL to Spanish-speaking students in both South Bay and Tijuana, Mexico.

Aleyna is currently completing her degree in mathematics from Cuyamaca College, where she enjoys studying calculus the most. Aleyna is an active member of her community and she enjoys working with mathematicians of all ages, from elementary to middle school math and high school as well. As mathnasium's lead instructor, she helps coordinate student activity on Mathnasium's virtual, at-home teaching platform, in addition to teaching both online and in-center. She especially loves helping students understand the same concepts that she struggled with when she was younger. When she isn't serving her community as one our math experts, Aleyna also loves to volunteer in other areas.


Ruhullah is working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics at UCSD's Warren College. His passion for math education was kindled when he volunteered as a math teacher at an international school in Tongatapu. Since then, he has been learning how to foster in young people an appreciation for the beauty of problem-solving. In his spare time, Ru enjoys playing guitar and studying Religion.


Christina is currently a senior at Olympian High School in Chula Vista, aiming for a Philosophy degree at University of California - Santa Cruz! While her major isn't related so much to Mathematics, she enjoys the teaching element of math and loves interacting with students. She hopes to help make learning a less daunting experience for students by pursuing a career in education. Christina also loves making digital art, and spends the majority of her spare time completing commissions and updating her art account! Combining her love for teaching and arts is one of her biggest goals for the future.


Jose is a graduate from San Diego State University, where he majored in Computer Science. He has taken a variety of higher math courses such as Linear Algebra, Statistics, and Calculus, but loves Algebra the most. He has had a love for math since he was a young kid and has always enjoyed helping his classmates in anything math-related. Now he strives to help make math fun and easier to understand for the next generation. In his free time he likes to go hiking with friends or play Rocket League. He is a San Diego local, and a graduate from Patrick Henry High School.


Marcial is a first-year student at Grossmont College pursuing a degree in English. He always had a passion for teaching others after being president of the Mentor Club at O'Farrell Charter School. Marcial always enjoys a challenge and finds math to be like puzzles. He aims to guide students to grasp math as a fun and useful subject. In his free time, Marcial enjoys writing, acting and watching anime.


Matt is well loved by our students for his sense of humor and approachability in addition to his awesome math skills! He is a graduate from UCSD's Muir College where he majored in Mathematics and Economics, and accrued years of college level math tutoring experience. He specializes in statistics and hopes to spread his love of numbers and data visualization to the next generation of awesome young mathematicians. As of late, he has also become a master of Mathnasium's virtual, at home teaching platform. In his free time he likes to head to the beach or play tabletop games with old friends.
