Ravi Pillai, Owner & Center Director
Ravi graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla with MS degrees in Engineering Management and Materials Engineering after receiving his undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Science, India. With twenty years of work experience, he has held executive level managerial positions in manufacturing companies as well as in retail and service environments. With a strong mathematical background, Ravi believes that in today's business world, numerical aptitude is of paramount importance for success, regardless of career path. To this end, having a solid foundation in mathematics is not an option. Ravi considers himself lucky to have the opportunity to provide a specialized math tutoring service to children in our community. Mathnasium of Cupertino works hard to ensure that parents are delighted with the level of coaching their children receive in mathematics. Ravi is married with three children ages 18, 14, and 12, the oldest attending the Univ. of California, Berkeley pursuing her BS in Bio-Medical Engineering ( a Mathnasium student since her 4th grade!)
Sherif Imeraj, Instructor
Bringing 40 years of experience in teaching Math, Sherif is an expert in all math topics at all levels. Sherif loves teaching and is passionate about finding practical ways to demonstrate math fundamentals & principles enabling students to learn faster and with less effort. Proficient in all math topics including Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Pre-Calculus & Calculus, his favorite subject is Calculus. Sherif is from Albania and has received the highest National Teacher Award in his country for his creative and passionate teaching efforts. Sherif is proud to be part of the Mathnasium team and looks forward to contributing his skills to ensure an enriching math learning experience for your child.
Syamali Ray, Instructor
Syamali has extensive experience teaching mathematics to high & middle school students and is passionate about teaching math to elementary school children. She graduated with an MS degree in Applied Mathematics and a BS degree in Education from the University of Calcutta, India. With a License from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Single Subject Mathematics, she is proficient in all math topics including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I/II, Trigonometry, Geometry, Pre-Calculus & Calculus. Most of her experience has been teaching students from the Cupertino/Fremont school district and other school districts in the vicinity. Her goal is to make math interesting to her students and then equip them with skills that will allow them to logically understand the topic while stimulating their creative thinking. Syamali is excited to be part of the Mathnasium team and is looking forward to helping your children be successful in mathematics in the long term.
Winaya Modak, Instructor
Winaya graduated with a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Statistics from India and then went on to receive a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Florida Atlantic University. She brings several years of experience tutoring middle school and high school students of the local school districts here in Cupertino and surrounding areas. She has also been the mathematics tutor for her children. Winaya has a strong desire to encourage students to build strong mathematical concepts that would help them in subsequent stages of their careers. She places a great deal of emphasis on the usage of creative techniques to supplement foundational aspects of mathematics. Her goal for every child is to enjoy Mathematics while building a strong conceptual foundation.She is excited to be the part of Mathnasium of Cupertino and looks forward to making a significant contribution to your child's success.
