Michael Chang

Instructor
Michael is studying at Montgomery College to transfer to the University of Maryland, College Park to study Animal Sciences. Michael has taken various college-level math courses and took various AP-level mathematics courses in high school. Michael has experience tutoring math as a member of the National Math Honors Society. He always had a particular affinity for math, as he could quickly pick up and master new topics in school. Michael likes to teach students of all ages and wants to help them learn and unlock their greatest potential.

Devon Chen

Instructor
Devon is a straight-A student in the Science, Math, and Computer Science (SMCS) magnet program at Poolesville High School. Devon has completed AP NSL/Government, AP Computer Science, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus BC, and AP Chinese. Devon has multiple years of teaching experience and enjoys developing a passion for math in his students. Devon is a competitive swimmer on his local and high school swim team. He also competes in regional and national debate competitions. In his free time, he plays the piano and cello.

Erin Cherian

Online Instructor
Erin is pursuing her degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan. She graduated from the magnet program at Poolesville High School. She was an Honor Roll student for all four years. Erin has taken several AP, advanced math, engineering and robotics courses. She has conducted several STEM outreach programs for school students. As a member of Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) program, she mentors and encourages high school students to explore technology and engineering careers. Erin played basketball and soccer in high school and college. She enjoys volunteering her time to coach junior teams and young players.

Ian Bui

Instructor
Ian is a student at Poolesville High School. He has completed multiple advanced math and science courses including Algebra II, Precalculus, AP Calculus BC, and AP Computer Science. Having a particular interest in and affinity for math, Ian enjoyed helping his peers solidify their understanding of advanced math concepts. As a winner of multiple chess competitions, Ian also has teaching experience as a chess coach. Ian loves teaching math and helping students enjoy getting better at math. Ian is passionate about art, graphic design, and coding.

Ryan Nguyen

Instructor
Ryan is currently studying at Montgomery College through the dual enrollment program and is pursuing an Associate in Science and Engineering degree. Ryan has completed multiple high-level courses in math, physics, and engineering, including Calculus I and II, Multivariable Calculus, Physics I and II, and Statistics. Ryan has multiple years of teaching experience, and he loves to foster a love and appreciation for math in all of his students at Mathnasium, approaching teaching with compassion and empathy. Ryan enjoys giving back to his community, teaching piano at The Tacy Foundation. He is also a black belt in karate. Ryan speaks Vietnamese, Spanish, and English.
