Owner & Center Director Peter Abrams
Peter Abrams has been a Queen's resident his entire life. He grew up in Flushing, graduated
from Queens College with a B.A. in Accounting and moved to Bayside where he continues
to reside. Peter began a distinguished accounting and auditing career at several large firms;
then, in 1999, he was selected for the position of CFO at Devon Architects, where he
handled all aspects of the operation.
Peter has always had a keen interest in math and an appreciation of the way mathematics affects everyday life.
He developed many different methods to figure out how to answer problems using logic and problem-solving
skills. Though successful in his accounting and managerial positions, he felt that he had a different calling; one
that included his interests, passion, and talents. He found Mathnasium and quickly realized that he could have
a positive impact on many children by introducing them to the Mathnasium Method and they too would
become interested and passionate about mathematics.
Peter continues to teach math to children in a way that makes sense to them, encouraging them to build
Number Sense, and helping them develop the skills and confidence they'll need to succeed in the future in a
fun, wholesome, and nurturing environment.
