A New Chapter at Mathnasium of Ardsley-Irvington: Meet Our New Owner, Amy Bennis!
There's a new face leading Mathnasium of Ardsley-Irvington, but the mission remains the same: helping kids build confidence, develop strong math skills and discover that math can actually be fun!
We're excited to introduce Amy Bennis, the new owner of Mathnasium of Ardsley-Irvington, who officially took over on October 1, 2026!
From Mathnasium Instructor to Mathnasium Owner
For Amy, Mathnasium isn't just a business. It's been a huge part of her life for more than 15 years!
Amy started her Mathnasium journey as an instructor while earning her degree in Math Education from the University of Central Florida. Since then, she's held just about every position imaginable, from Center Director to Senior District Manager, helping Mathnasium centers and students thrive throughout New York, New Jersey, and Florida.
After spending more than 15 years helping other owners build successful centers, Amy decided it was finally time to take the next step and become an owner herself!
"Mathnasium has been such a big part of my life for so long. I've had the opportunity to work with thousands of students, families and instructors over the years, and I truly believe in what we do. Becoming an owner has been a dream of mine, and I couldn't be more excited to make that dream a reality here in Ardsley!"
A Mom Who Understands the Importance of Confidence in Learning
Outside of Mathnasium, Amy is also a busy mom of three young children, two of whom are already Mathnasium Mathletes!
Being both a parent and an educator gives Amy a unique perspective on what families are looking for when it comes to their children's education.
"I know firsthand how important it is to find a place where your child feels comfortable, encouraged and excited to learn. Every child learns differently, and one of my favorite things about Mathnasium is that we meet students where they are and help them grow from there."
Whether a student needs help catching up, wants to get ahead, or simply needs a confidence boost, Amy believes every child deserves to feel successful in math.
Building on a Wonderful Foundation
Amy is especially grateful to former owner Brigitte Tanner for the incredible center and community she built over the years.
As the center moves into this exciting new chapter, families can look forward to more opportunities for communication, community involvement, special events and of course, plenty of math learning and fun!
Amy is also looking forward to building stronger connections with local schools and families throughout Ardsley, Irvington, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson and the surrounding communities.
More Than Just Math
For Amy, Mathnasium has always been about much more than helping students improve their grades.
It's about the student who walks in saying, "I'm bad at math," and eventually realizes they can do it.
It's about watching a child become more confident in the classroom, tackle challenging problems independently and start believing in themselves.
And it's about creating a place where students feel supported, celebrated and excited to come back.
"One of the best parts of my job has always been watching that moment when something finally clicks for a student. That excitement never gets old, even after 15 years!"
