• What math classes can your instructors teach?

  Our caring, specially trained instructors work with elementary, middle, and high school students of all skill levels looking to learn and master any K-12 math class and topic, from basic Arithmetic up to Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry.

• Do your math instructors work with students online?

  Although Mathnasium does offer an on-line experience, this Center has not yet implemented it. Look to see Mathnasium@Home in the coming months!

• Why do you require an assessment for enrollment?

  Every student's needs are different. Mathnasium's greatest advantage is that we meet each student where they are at, and take them forward at the speed they need to move at. We individually assess each student to pinpoint their strengths, their knowledge gaps, and their unique goals. We then create a personalized learning plan that will put them on the best path to math mastery.

• Do you work with advanced students or only the ones struggling with math?

  We empower students of all skill levels to excel in math, whether they are looking to catch up, keep up, or get ahead on their math journey. Wherever they are, whether ahead or behind, we will meet them there and take them forward.
  
  We work with advanced students to expand their math skills and help them achieve their greatest potential. At Mathnasium, advanced students can explore the topics beyond their school’s math curriculum and receive personalized support to achieve their unique academic goals.
  
  If a student is struggling or simply looking to keep up in their math class, Mathnasium will build upon what they already know, addressing their learning gaps and teaching math in a way that makes sense to them.

• What does Mathnasium cost?

  Mathnasium provides premium value by combining a superior learning experience with an efficient structure that keeps costs low. There is a flat enrollment fee for our program, usually monthly. Students attend regularly, much like a gym membership. We recommend that they attend Mathnasium 2-3 times per week, as attending less frequently will slow results and attending too often could lead to burnout. Pricing varies by program. Contact our center for more details on current enrollment packages.

• How do you teach math? What method or curriculum do you use?

  We use the Mathnasium Method™, a proprietary teaching approach which combines personalized learning plans with proven techniques to build math knowledge upon what students already know, so they're able to retain what they learn and gain confidence along the way. Our proprietary curriculum and teaching methodology are designed to be tailored to the individual student's needs. We do not insist that students learn to do things in only one way. Rather, we focus on building their foundation of understanding, so that they can readily adapt to whatever their future needs are, whether academic or on-the-job.

• Do you give homework to students?

  We never give homework. Adding homework to their day means they run the risk of frustration and overload. Furthermore, when a student undertakes homework assignments they don't really understand yet, they can wind up practicing their mistakes.
  
  All Mathnasium learning occurs under the efficient and effective guidance of our trained instructors. We will also set aside some time each session to help your student better understand their school homework.

• What is the best age to start Mathnasium?

  The earlier, the better.  Our Great Foundations™ curriculum is designed to introduce TK and Kindergarten students to basic number ideas.  Mathnasium's early childhood math tutoring will give them the critical thinking, problem-solving, and number sense skills to prepare them for their school years and beyond.
