What do you like the most about teaching at Mathnasium? I love seeing students develop a love of learning and a change in attitude about math! It is amazing to see the transformation from "I can't" to "I can" and to hear how that transformation affects a student's outlook on learning in general!

What do you like to do in your free time? I love spending time with my family, enjoying all that Colorado has to offer, and spending time with friends!

You and Dr. Reiner have been the Center Directors and Owners at Mathnsium of Boulder for six months now, can you share a little about your experience - what are your rose and thorn?

Sure, I'll start with the thorn - get it over with! Hands down, would have to be coming in to teach and discovering a plumbing situation in the bathroom that led to some major (and costly!) repairs. Not having a bathroom available for several days was very stressful.

My rose has been seeing the growth that has happened with our students. Watching them struggle, guiding their learning, and being there when they discover the possible through math has been amazing!

My second rose (because I can't help myself) has been hiring and mentoring our wonderful teachers! I didn't know that we would be gaining so many wonderful colleagues and we ar always moved by observing their skillful teaching and dedication to Mathnasium!

Ok, my very last rose, I promise! It has been so touching to become a part of the community. I have loved getting to know all of the families, seeing you in the grocery store and at our son's activities and events, meeting your cute little babies and grandparents, getting to know all of our parents and seeing friendships grow amongst our students. It is an honor and a pleasure to be a part of the Boulder community in this way!
