Welcome Back to School, Boulder!

Aug 17, 2022 | Boulder

Happy First Day of School for many students in the Boulder area! It is so cute seeing the little ones enjoying the playground and feeling that back-to-school excitement that is in the air in Boulder this week!

Here's a couple of tips to make the transition back to school smoother:

  1. Set the expectations. Pre-teach your kids by talking through the first week of school. Think about doing a dry run of your morning routine, spend some time at school, and give your kids an opportunity to engage with their new peers and teachers.
  2. Expect big feelings. It is exciting, it is scary, it is all the feelings wrapped up into one! Kids and parents may have feelings rise up when they least expect it. It is OK to feel nervous, scared, excited, sad, and happy all at once. Make room for it.
  3. Parents, give yourself some love! You deserve it! You made it through summer, balancing all of the things, juggling camps, work, and all that summer had to offer. Now, have a nice, long cup of coffee and give yourself a little break before tackling the day!
  4. Know that we are here for you! Mathnasium of Boulder is here to support your learning needs, whether it is to catch up on a couple of things that were forgotten over the summer or to provide enrichment. We are here to make your lives easier - let us be the math learning center so you can be the parents!
