Why Spring Break is STILL important!

“Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for.” - Maya Angelou, Wouldn’t Take Nothing for my Journey Now

Spring Break is just around the corner and is just as necessary as ever. Yes, for some of us, school has been “out” for a while now. But that doesn’t mean that our students don’t need a break.

Our Students Need a Break

For most of our kids, relationships are their biggest motivators for school. They love their teachers, classmates, class pets, etc. For a lot of us, right now, those motivators are currently absent, and our children have been working in spite of that loss.

Your Teachers Need a Break

The closing of in-person education has increased, not decreased, the workload for teaching staff. And, just as your children, teachers are practicing to learn without face-to-face relationships with friends, peers, and classroom pets, our staff is doing the same thing. For your teachers, your children are the motivator for their work.

You Need a Break

You are likely working just as hard as your children and school staff to figure things out. You need a break also. We know that one of the things that might help you with that is having your children occupied. And, while students take a break from their schooling it may feel like a break for mom and dad isn’t possible. It might be more difficult than other times in your life, but you need it. Open a “beach read,” watch that movie you’ve been waiting to see. Have a spa day at home.

Stick around until next week to learn how taking a break is not only necessary but beneficial to your child's mental health as well.
