High School Student Shares Experience Working As Instructor At Mathnasium Of Canyon Country

Rohit Pulipaka, a senior at Hart High School, recently talked about his experience working as an instructor at Mathnasium of Canyon Country on KHTS Radio

Currently enrolled in AP Calculus and AP Statistics at Hart High, Pulipaka has been tutoring his peers in math since the ninth grade, making a job at Mathnasium of Country Country what he called “a perfect fit” for him.

“Our curriculum is super individualized and the methods that we teach are far better for the students, for them to be able to understand math problems conceptually,” Pulipaka said.

He continued that at most schools, teachers are unable to give each student individualized attention based on their specific needs due to large class sizes.

“Whereas at Mathnasium, we’re able to give each student a personalized learning plan,” Pulipaka said.

In addition, many students are often too intimidated to raise their hands in class in fear of what their friends and peers might think or how their teacher might respond, according to Pulipaka.

“Discussing math usually in a classroom setting is kind of daunting for the students,” he said. “But at Mathnasium, it’s a really safe environment. They can ask any question and it’s perfectly fine, and we’ll give them the help that they need.”

While Pulipaka is currently interviewing at prestigious universities like Stanford, Harvard and Cornell to continue his education next year, he plans to return to work at Mathnasium of Canyon Country as an instructor during school breaks and summers.
