MATHNASIUM IMAGINARIUM QUEST SUMMER CAMPS 2024

"Mathnasium Imaginarium Quests," the week-long tabletop RPG camp for rising 1st-8th grade young adventurers, seamlessly integrates mathematical challenges into the fabric of their imaginative narratives. During the camp week, Mathnasium of Central Park will be transformed into a fantasy world crafted by kids!. As campers embark on personalized adventures of their own creation featuring everything from unicorns and dragons to astronauts and fantasy athletes, they encounter strategic scenarios requiring mathematical prowess. From calculating the trajectory of a dragon's fiery breath to determining the optimal path through a labyrinth, mathematical problem-solving becomes an integral part of the quest. Campers work collaboratively, applying math skills to enhance their characters' abilities or unlock hidden magical artifacts. The synergy of storytelling and math not only captivates their imagination but also cultivates practical mathematical proficiency in a dynamic and engaging manner. "Mathnasium Imaginarium Quests" is not just a journey through mythical realms; it's a unique opportunity for young minds to embrace the enchanting union of creativity and mathematical exploration, ensuring a magical and educational experience they'll treasure long after the camp concludes.

Campers will have so much fun creating their own world that they won't even realize that they are learning the key number sense strategies that our instructors at Mathnasium of Central Park teach every day! Participants will have the opportunity to practice interpersonal communication skills through improv games, explore their own interests and imagination with character creation and costuming, and develop strategic planning skills through their campaigns. Our instructors will be mindful of establishing creative worlds and quests that are developmentally-appropriate.

Camps meet from 9 am to 4 pm each day.
