Here at Mathnasium, we're always trying to find new and better ways to support students in achieving all of their academic goals - from supplementing their school work with front-loading and test prep to ensure mastery, to filling gaps and providing enrichment outside of school and during school breaks, to preparing them for the next step in their education with our PSAT/SAT/ACT prep program!
We know these college entrance exams can bring a lot of anxiety with them for many students. Students can feel overwhelmed, confused, or unprepared for these tests that can feel like the end of the world. Luckily, though, students have the opportunity to retake the SAT/ACT as many times as they would like until they get the score that they are aiming for.
So whether we're prepping for our first shot at the SAT/ACT ever, or have already taken it and are looking to improve our score, Mathnasium is more than happy to help. We provide tutoring not just on the math concepts that are required to excel on these tests, but also help students prepare their test taking and time management strategies, as well as demystifying these exams, and breaking them down to their essentials, from each section to perfecting our strategic approach to the test.
For example, many students are prone to taking a test from question 1-50, and this mistake can be costly! On the SAT, students have just about one minute to answer each question in order to finish on time, making getting caught up on a single question an error that can greatly damage a student's score. One of the best ways to counteract falling into this behavior is with regular practice and reminder that skipping and completing all doable/easy questions first can leave us valuable time to then work on questions that we evaluate as something we think we know, leaving questions we have no idea how to complete blank until the end, at which point we guess (a 20% chance of getting those points rather than 0% for leaving it blank!!!).
Call us today to find out more about our SAT/ACT program - we're more than your neighborhood math learning center, we're your student's neighborhood academic resource! In school, out of school, and in the future!
