Jan 17, 2023 | Corona

Today you’ll get a glimpse into the happenings of your local center as we follow students through their first experience at Mathnasium of Corona.

Q: What is the first thing a brand new student does at your center?

A: Take the comprehensive assessment

Q: What is the comprehensive assessment? How long does it take to finish?

A: The comprehensive assessment take on average about one hour to complete. It will allow us to identify the areas that we need to focus on with the students and design a customized learning plan for them

Q: How often should I bring my student to Mathnasium of Corona?

A: We recommend 2 to 3 times a week. This will give the students a good amount of practice to make progress and not overwhelming to them

Q: Who are the people teaching my child?

A: Our instructors come from a variety of different background. However, they all have something in common: they love math and they love working with children. All of our instructors need to pass our math proficiency test and we require them to go through our Mathnasium University courses to learn how to teach using the Mathnasium Method prior to working with the students

Q: When can I bring my child into Mathnasium of Corona?

A: We are open Monday to Friday. Please check our website for the most current hours.

Q: How do you motivate your students at Mathnasium of Corona?

A: We make math fun! From having monthly events, a wonderful reward system, Mathlete of the Month award, just to name a few. For example, we are currently planning on our first in-center event of the year to celebrate Pi Day in March. All of our students are working together toward achieving a goal to make the event more festive and earn the rights to pie the instructor. To sum it up, we create a fun, positive and supportive learning environment where students enjoy coming.
