The coronavirus pandemic is scary, but Mathnasium of Grand Prairie is here to help your family during this time of uncertainty. I know personally, from my Health Care Education (Pharmacy) and experience (Master’s in Pharmacology: University of Louisiana) the importance of accurate and timely information. Keeping up to date helps us feel more in control when so much is changing around us.
So, what is Mathnasium of Grand Prairie is doing to keep your child (and your family) safe? First – we are constantly scanning for new information from reliable sources. We are reading the CDC guidelines, we are monitoring local news, and checking in with our county and state health departments.
Our Mathnasium Learning Center is closely following the CDC guidelines published for Administrators of US K-12 Schools and Childcare Programs. Prevention is the most important step that we can all take! Here are some special precautions that we have implemented:
- If your child has a fever, or is coughing, please do not bring him or her into the Mathnasium Learning Center. The same applies to all our staff members in the facility.
- As soon as anyone enters our Mathnasium Learning Center, including students, parents, and employees, they are asked to immediately wash their hands with soap and water. We use disposable paper towels, the very best way to minimize potential exposure. (We also have a hand sanitizer available for their use all the time)
- We are increasing social distancing. We have reduced the number of student seats by75% to spread out students to maintain a proximity no closer than 6 feet.
- Instructors are advised to maintain social distancing as well. No more high fives or even elbow bumps for now!
- Each child is given two pencils and one eraser to keep in his or her binder. No more sharing of pencils or erasers – same goes for the instructors. They keep only one pen and do not share it with other instructors or students.
- We sanitize with approved cleaning products several times throughout the center’s hours of operation.
- We have shut down the game area temporarily to reduce students handling games and manipulatives.
We are committed to keeping your child and your family safe. We will get through this together! If you ever have any concerns about your child’s health and safety, please do not hesitate to let us know. If anything changes, we will reach out to let you know so you can stay fully informed.
