Q1: What’s one way your center makes summer learning fun and engaging for students??
A: We have game time Mondays-Thursdays from 4:00-4:30, through the summer for students who come during that time and stay a half-hour longer or arrive a half hour earlier than their normal time. We also have one special activity each day including: snacks, free wheel spins, popsicles, and even magic tricks.
Q2: What’s a moment this summer that reminded you why you love working with students?
A: It has been great fun surprising a student with a certificate, use of a special chair, and a lawn sign when he earned Student of the Month for July. The brightening of his eyes, the breadth of his smile, and his boost in confidence are what make this job amazing!
Q3: Why do you think summer is such a powerful time for students to build math skills?
A: There is no homework or testing stress during the summer, so students can concentrate on reviewing and learning skills at their own pace.
