Canaan Smith played football and baseball in high school. At the end of his sophomore year, the University of Arkansas Razorbacks offered him a football scholarship as long as he raised his grade point average. Canaan's low grades were both in math and science.
Maada, Canaan’s father, enrolled his son at Mathnasium of Rockwall. The comprehensive assessment Canaan took at Mathnasium showed that he is at the level of a 9th grader. It took Canaan lots of work and perseverance. But with the help of the fabulous instructors at Mathnasium and the support of his teachers, who were working along side with the Mathnasium instructors, Canaan's math skills improved tremendously. He got A's and B's in Algebra 3.
