Here at Mathnasium, not only do we give an initial assessment to see where each of our students are in their current math skills, but we check bimonthly to make sure they are still on track to succeed in their math classes.
After the initial assessment, a typical student at Mathnasium will work on the topics in their learning plan and the topics they are currently learning in school. As they progress through the learning plan, they may notice that the topics become easier as they are also progressing through their school’s curriculum. No worries! Once the learning plan is too easy for our students, we will conduct either a progress check or the next level assessment to make sure our student is working on the best material that will be a benefit to their math knowledge.
During a progress check, we give our students the same assessment they previously have taken, but only with the problems they missed. This way they have a chance to prove they have learned how to do these problems and we can start taking off these topics from their learning plan as they have proven they are at mastery. This gives us the opportunity to truly find what each of our students are struggling with and help them become a master at each topic that comes their way.
