Dear Mathnasium of La Costa Parents and Guardians,
Effective immediately, our San Diego Mathnasium learning centers will be closed for in-person instruction through March 31 in accordance with the Amended Order of the Health Officer and Emergency Regulations. As more information becomes available, we will keep you informed on if our in center operations may resume on April 1.
In the interim, we will be transitioning all students over to our Mathnasium@home service. Under development with thousands of students over 3 years, this new platform brings the same Mathnasium Method from our centers to students at home through an internet-connected computer. By coincidence, we launched this service on March 1 and we have been prepping and planning for it since January.
Our instructional team has recorded where every student is in their learning plans and we have uploaded their material into the Mathnasium@home platform. We keep a workout plan (“yellow sheet”) and award stars/stamps just like in center services. Homework is uploaded through a shared Google Drive folder, so any students involved in distance learning or with homework packets can still receive homework assistance.
We will use the next few days to prep and train additional staff members will be ready to serve the students beginning Tuesday. We will have expanded hours since students are out of school for the next few weeks. The scheduling link shows limited availability at the moment as we shape staffing, so revisit the website to see refreshed options. Our hope is to make @home available from 12-8pm.
We will be monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely to evaluate whether in-center instruction will re-open on April 1.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Quizon
Center Director
