How Math Makes More Money

Feb 14, 2017 | La Jolla

We at Mathnsium of La Jolla obviously know the value of math. It touches so much in life - problem solving, art, architecture, business, science, to name a few critical areas. But for kids who don't "how will I use this in life?," here is some good food for thought!

A Harvard study shows evidence that just taking one extra math class can lead to a 10% earnings increase over others for every extra course.  They even stated it didn't have to be a challenging course! Just remaining active in the subject leads to more doors being open in career paths and personal financial management.

Encourage your students to work hard in the subject! It does take effort sineconcepts build upon one another, and once abilities and confidence start to slip, it is easy to slip into a math funk. Keeping skills sharp year round (yes, that means summer!) makes course transition smooth and skills more easily transferrable.
