The COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has created a lot of confustion and concern across all our communities. There is nothing more important for us than well-being of our Mathnasium childeren and family.
With recent news that the local public schools for our center will be closing next week, we continue to stay open in center and online for parents who don't want math learning to stop.
While we have our routine cleaning procedure we are implementing following in the center.
- Check-in. We will check students in ourselves, instead of each student themselves.
- Spacing. We will sit students in every other seat to keep them further from one another.
- Waiting area. In the interest of reducing the number of extra people in the centers, we are making sure that no one can sit in the waiting areas. I.e. guardians are asked to drop-off and pick-up only.
- Extended Hours if necessary. Extending our hours to spread students out over time if instructor schedules allow.
- Hand Washing.
- Every student washes hands or sanitizes their hands when they enter; and when they leave.
- Instructors wash hands upon arrival and every hour.
- Pencils. Students are given a pencil to keep in their binder.
- Sanitizing.
- We are frequently disinfecting high-touch surfaces, such as tables, chairs, door handles, light switches, etc.
- We will make disinfecting wipes available to all.
- We will put out hand sanitizer.
- If sanitizing/cleaning supplies are limited, we will consider “post-it easel pads” as a way to replace a paper work surface for each student.
- Games / Manipulatives. During this period, we will not be using games or manipulatives.
- Memberships. We will continue to be understanding and comforting to parents during these uncertain times. If parents are unable to participate in Mathnasium@home, we will put students on hold during this time without any penalties, as this is more favorable to them cancelling their membership.
- Center Closures. In case of government action.
Be safe, and thank you for being a part of the Mathnasium family.
