We suggest using the final two weeks of summer to check how ready your learner feels for the next grade. Before school starts, choose five to ten problems from the skill areas you focused on in June. Compare how your student handles them now with what you saw at the beginning of summer.
If they solve the problems more confidently than they did in June, that's a good sign they're ready for what's next. If the same gaps are still there, you still have some time to adjust the plan and get support before new lessons begin to build on those skills.
