Mathnasium of Mid County's personalized geometry tutoring programs are designed to support students at every stage of their math journey.
Middle school students learn key concepts including angles, shapes, congruence, and measurement, while developing strong spatial awareness and reasoning skills that support future success in geometry.
Following personalized learning plans, we guide students through topics such as proofs, triangles, circles, transformations, and the Pythagorean theorem, helping them truly understand how geometry works.
We support honors students and those preparing for math competitions with advanced proofs, coordinate geometry, and rigorous problem-solving, guiding them in developing college-ready skills and deeper mathematical insight.
At Mathnasium of Mid County, our specially trained tutors work with K-12 students of all skill levels to help them truly understand and enjoy geometry through face-to-face instruction in a caring and fun group environment.
We help students connect geometric concepts to logical reasoning and real-world applications. As their understanding grows, so does their confidence to approach new problems with clarity and precision.
Our tutors use the Mathnasium Method™, a proprietary teaching approach that combines personalized learning plans with proven instructional techniques. We work with K-12 students both in-center and online, helping them develop lasting understanding of geometry.
In each session, students receive face-to-face instruction in a small-group setting where they strengthen problem-solving skills and deepen their understanding of geometric relationships and logic.
Students begin their Mathnasium experience with a diagnostic assessment that helps us identify their current skill level, knowledge gaps, and learning goals.
Using these insights, we create a personalized learning plan tailored to each student’s needs. Our tutors then focus instruction on key topics such as angles, congruence, transformations, the Pythagorean Theorem, and proofs, ensuring they learn and master each concept step by step.

Specially Trained and Caring Team
Everest Banner
Center Director
Everest is an entrepreneur who has been passionate about coding, engineering, and math since high school. He loves seeing how teaching math can truly change lives and is excited to share that with students every day at Mathnasium. For him, the best part of the job is when kids light up with excitement after grasping a new concept.
Everest enjoys playing volleyball and disc golf. He hopes to one day direct multiple Mathnasium centers so even more students can benefit from the program. His favorite math moments are the ones where learning feels fun and joyful.
Hadley Banner
Instructor
Hadley has loved teaching since childhood, when she would “play school” with her friends. She recently graduated from BYU with a degree in Music Education and brings that same enthusiasm for learning to her role at Mathnasium. She enjoys encouraging students and helping them develop both cognitive skills and self-confidence through math.
Hadley, her husband, and their young daughter are new to the Mid County area and love exploring together. She enjoys board games, volleyball, spikeball, and Sonic drinks. For Hadley, Mathnasium is about meeting students where they are and celebrating growth every step of the way.
Aiden Battenfield
Lead Instructor
Bio: Aiden is attending Lamar University to obtain a major in chemical engineering and a minor in mathematics along with a minor in chemistry. He enjoys partaking in conversations involving or about math and chemistry. He also like pets and spending quality time with family.
Favorite Number: My favorite number is 19 because that is the age that I began working toward my degree in engineering.
Favorite Math Joke: Why was 6 scared of 7? Because 7 8 9. This is my favorite joke because it involves a smaller number taking over a bigger number.
In 5 years, I will be: An engineer working in a plant, helping to better the world we live in today while supporting a family.
I love Mathnasium because: I get to help kids learn skills that will help them not only in school now, but for the rest of their lives. I get to help these children grow and learn skills to help them succeed in the future.
Alfred de la Rosa
Instructor
Bio: Bachelor's and Master's degrees in math from Lamar University. I taught math classes for a total of 23 years: at Woodrow Wilson Middle School in Port Arthur, Texas (1 year); Lamar University (1 year) and Lamar Institute of Technology (21 years) in Beaumont, Texas. During my last four years at Lamar Institute of Technology I also taught math at Lamar State College-Port Arthur as an adjunct instructor. Likes: Watching sports (in person and on TV) and movies (particularly science fiction and horror films). I also like to travel.
Favorite number: π (pi). Without it, inventing the wheel would not be possible. We depend on this number more than we think of in our daily lives, from uses in engineering and architecture to making pizza (if we wish to make it round).
Favorite Math Joke: From Groucho Marx--"What this country needs is a seven-cent nickel...It could could lead to an eight-cent nickel. Think what that would mean. You could go to a newsstand, buy a three-center, spend it, and get the same nickel back again."

Favorite Number: My favorite number is 14 because it’s my birthday and it’s also the jersey number of my favorite volleyball player, Yūki Ishikawa.
Favorite Math Joke: “What’s 9 + 10?” “…21.”
In 5 years, I will be: I hope to be an established artist in the Asian music scene, connecting with people around the world and creating music that inspires and resonates with others.
I love Mathnasium because: It offers the kind of supportive learning environment I wish I had when I was younger, one where math feels approachable and personalized for every student. It’s a place that encourages curiosity, embraces mistakes as part of learning, and helps students grow at their own pace. I believe that progress is more important than perfection, and Mathnasium truly embodies that mindset.
