RESOLUTIONS
Statistics have shown that 1/3 of New Year’s resolutions fail after January ends.
Change is hard, especially when the pandemic has made it almost impossible to set and keep routines. Now is the time to double down on our goals for the year, and to help our kids learn how to form healthy habits too. Our school systems were hit the hardest by the chaos of COVID, and we’re seeing the effects on our kids. At Mathnasium, our priority has always been to form and keep successful learning habits that have lifelong benefits. We help our students make Math practice a part of their daily routine– even the highlight of their day! Here’s our secret for success:
SET TIME APART
If we want to see change, we have to make the time in our day. When I was raising my kids here in Mullica Hill, I took that extra time in Math practice every day after school. I would have loved to have had a Mathnasium here then. I really would’ve loved it!!! Now they continue to love their Math classes in college! I know that putting in that extra time is no light task for parents. That is exactly why I opened Mathnasium here in our town so that I could help bring that after-school routine to all students in our community. I want every student to catch up to their grade level and get ahead. Mathnasium students are given the opportunity to commit themselves to improvement. The time they spend online or in-center creates a discipline and routine that our students actually look forward to each day.
That is what we do.
STAY CONSISTENT
We all know that the hardest part about resolutions is sticking to them once we start seeing results. We feel like the work is done, but it has only just started! With learning habits especially, consistency is the key to seeing beyond the short term reward. Our new students are always surprised by how quickly they see the results of their work. But they soon start to see the payoff of consistent practice when they work towards prizes in our Rewards Cabinet. As they work on their individualized lesson plans, they are filling in the gaps in their knowledge while they cover new material. Once they start gaining confidence and earning rewards for their hard work, they don’t want to stop!
CELEBRATE YOUR ACHIEVEMENT
Our students at Mathnasium are not only leaving the center with prizes and confidence to tackle their tests and quizzes, but most importantly with a strong learning habit that will always guide them. Our students get so used to success that they lose track of how far they’ve come! At Mathnasium, we like to recognize Students of the Month to remind our hard workers that their achievements should and will be celebrated.
Resolutions are about setting yourself up for a lifetime of success, confidence, and pride for your accomplishments. Our Mathnasium students will no doubt be able to tackle their future resolutions with ease. CAN YOU?
