Dear Parents and Guardians,
At Mathnasium, the well-being of our students and your families is always our first priority. We are keeping up with the latest information on the coronavirus (COVID-19) and wanted to update you on how we are working to keep our center the safest place it can be for your children.
In keeping with our President’s recent request to avoid having groups of more than 10, we ask that parents call in (405-412-8758), or click button at right to schedule your instruction sessions. I hope you will understand that at this time we must discontinue our drop-in scheduling. We will extend our instruction hours as needed with consideration of our instructors availability.
We are emphasizing hygiene standards for all students and staff and reinforcing the importance of proper hand washing procedures. We are also implementing additional cleaning protocols with disinfectants for all communal surfaces. We have hand sanitizer available and encourage its use. The following are the measures that we have implemented in our centers:
- Check-in/Check-out. Our instructors will check students in and out. Students will not handle the sign-in/sign-out tablet.
- Spacing. We will sit students in every other seat to keep them further from one another.
- Waiting area. In the interest of reducing the number of extra people in the centers, we are asking that no one sit in the waiting areas. I.e. guardians are asked to drop-off and pick-up only.
- Hand Washing.
- Every student wash hands or sanitizes their hands when they enter; and when they leave.
- Instructors wash hands upon arrival and every hour.
- Pencils. Students are given a clean, sanitized pencil upon arrival and stored in separate bin when done. Used pencils will be sanitized at the end of day. Students may also bring their own pencils and erasers.
- Sanitizing.
- We disinfect high-touch surfaces, such as tables, chairs, door handles, light switches as well as pencils, bins/totes, binders, each night.
- Manipulatives are sanitized after each use.
- We make disinfecting wipes available.
- Hand sanitizer is available for use.
- We use an air purifier, ionizer and filtration system to remove bacteria and other particles nightly.
- Games. During this period, we will have Problems of the Day (individual game sheets) to replace games in the back area.
- Illnesses.
- Instructors. Most importantly, no matter what the illness, are asked to not come to work with a fever or a cough. If either arises while in the center, they will be asked to go home until they are well.
- Students. If students are coughing or showing signs of illness, we ask that you not bring them in until they are well. If signs of illness arise during their session, we may move students away from the others and ask parents to pick them up.
Mathnasium is a special company made up of special and compassionate people. This is a time for us to be kind to one another and to be there for our families. We will stay open as long as we can to serve as many families as we can during this very difficult time. Please reach out to us at any time if you have any concerns that we can address. Be safe and thank you for being part of the Mathnasium family.
