A Farewell to Ashton and the Summer Months

Aug 27, 2019 | Portland

You can always tell when the first day of school is drawing close when the hot summer days start to be replaced with cooler fall afternoons. On Wednesday August 21st, we hosted a Back to School Party that also doubled as a farewell to our oldest instructor, Ashton. We celebrated Ashton and the return of school with games, food, and fun!

We decided to play BINGO with a twist. Our BINGO got our kids to talk about what they learned over the summer, what they are excited about for the upcoming year, and it also gave them a few challenges to try.

Over the summer our kids learned things like divisibility rules, finding the volume of a cone, and how to add and subtract fractions with different denominators. For the upcoming school year, our kids are excited to see their friends again. One mathlete is excited to learn how to divide decimals!

As for the BINGO challenges, our kids really stepped up their game. They played rounds of Spot It and captured pawns in Chess. One kid even busted out the Worm in the middle of the center to show everyone his best dance move! It was awesome!!

We want to thank all the kids who helped us wish Ashton a farewell. From all of us at Mathnasium, we want to wish Ashton well in his future endeavors!

Make sure to keep an eye out for more ways to join in on the fun. You may even see us at your school!
