We're here to support your student in solving for the unknown

Many of our middle school students are just beginning to learn algebra and are finding the introduction of variables confusing. Algebra and algebraic representations mark a significant turning point in math, where concepts begin to shift from the concrete to the abstract.  This can be a big leap for many students, especially since the answers to the problems they encounter can no longer be found by always following a series of set steps.

Making algebra more accessible

Algebra forces students to think critically and apply logical reasoning, and it is important to build these skills early on to ensure a strong foundation for topics taught in high school. Here at Mathnasium, our curriculum translates algebraic equations into visual representations that aid our students in understanding the relationships between variables, operations, and equations in a more tangible way. Our instructional material also breaks down solving for variables into manageable steps, allowing students to master solving 1-step equations before progressing to 2-step equations and beyond.

By building a strong foundation with these step-by-step lessons, students gain the confidence and skills they need to tackle more complex algebraic concepts with ease. If your child is ready to strengthen their algebra skills and gain a deeper understanding of math, Mathnasium is here to help.
