Get to Know Our Center Director, Josh!

May 7, 2020 | Rocklin

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week,
we got someone from our marketing team to interview our
center director, Josh Webb just for fun!

“Thank you for letting me interview you for our blog, Josh.”

Of course! Anything I can do to help!

“Let’s start with a cliché question. When is your birthday?”

Can I say it as an equation?

"Let's keep this simple. You don't have to say the year."

Fine. It's January 26th.

“Thank you. I understand that you travel quite the way to the Rocklin center. So where do you live?”

I live and grew up in Cameron Park, CA.

“Tell me about school or past jobs.”

Well, I have been a math nerd whole life. My mom was a math teacher and still teaches science at Camerado Springs Middle School. I graduated from Ponderosa High School and I'm currently a Mathematics Major.

“When did you join Mathnasium?”

Oh, WAY back. August 18, 2015.

“You have been here a long time!"

Absolutely. I have worked in seven of our eight centers over the years and I've enjoyed every moment of working at Mathnasium since I was a high school student.

"What do you love most about working with students?”

Seeing that lightbulb moment where they finally understand a difficult concept.
I also love seeing them become excited about math, especially if they hated it when they first joined Mathnasium. It has been exciting hearing about the amazing achievements of our past students: watching them graduate high school after failing math courses, seeing students go off to the prestigious colleges, and watching them go into GATE programs or advanced math courses.

“I love how passionate you are about your work. But outside of work, what are your top three hobbies?”

Playing board games like Villianous (so fun!), cooking, and...I guess watching movies.

“What is one interesting fact about yourself you’d like to share?”

I'm an avid cook and love to try new vegetarian dishes!

“You'll have to share some recipes with me.

Will do! I'll be sure to send you the ones that are gluten-free, as well.

"That's so thoughtful. Thank you! I can’t wait for our families to read this!”

Me too! Thanks a lot for your hard work!
