Q1: What are some ways your center is helping students prepare for the school year - whether it’s refreshing core skills, boosting confidence, or tackling new grade-level content?
A: Our center is helping prepare our students for the new school year in a variety of ways. Notably, we have been helping avoid the "summer slide" and all of our Students to continue consistent growth all year.
Q2: Can you share a quick success story about a student who feels more ready for school after coming to your center?
A: Recently, I've been helping a student going into 7th grade. A few weeks ago, she was introduced to exponents and had been struggling to figure them out. She recently has gotten exponentially better (pun intended) and has been able to complete pages perfectly, including her mastery check for exponents!
Q3: What would you tell parents who are worried their child isn’t ready for math this school year?
A: Take some time every day to practice your math skills - even if it's only for 10 minutes. That consistent practice is going to make a huge improvement! Math is a skill like any other where one's ability in it decays when it isn't being used, like speaking a second language. Daily exposure and progressing into harder topics are the best ways to monitor and improve one's math skills, and our center does an incredible job at providing both over the summer!
