What Can New Students Expect at Mathnasium of Spokane Valley

May 15, 2024 | Spokane Valley

Q: What is the first thing a new student would do upon entering Mathnasium?

A: The first thing a student will do when they walk in is meet the Center Director and be shown where there binder is located. The Center Director will then walk them to their table to introduce them to their instructor. The instructor will then go over the "first day" checklist with the student to help them learn more about how we operate.

Q: What does the first session look like for new students?

A: The first session for a new student typically includes going over what they have inside of their binder and/or work on their homework. Some students have more questions than others and may want to spend more time learning about what we have going on in the center.

Q: Have you seen a student’s attitude towards math change?

A: Absolutely! We had a student come in who was very frustrated with where she was at in her math journey. She had a really hard time with her confidence, and was struggling to make it through her sessions in the beginning. After she realized we can help her make math make more sense, she looked forward to coming here because she enjoyed getting the support from everyone here at Mathnasium.

Q: What do you wish students and parents knew before they brought their student to your center?

A: I wish that students knew that we can help them with their homework if they bring it in during their session. We can also get them pages to work on, that cover any topic they are working on in class!
