A Year at Mathnasium of Spokane Valley!

Jan 16, 2024 | Spokane Valley

Q: What was your favorite math-success memory of 2023?

A: Muskan missed a full month of school when her family went on a trip out of the country. Over the winter break, she came in for multiple three hour sessions, and worked hard to make sure she was caught up on all her geometry work. I admire her determination and ability to get a lot of work done in a single week, while still learning and improving her understanding of the concepts. - Ainsley

Q: Tell us about a student who really worked hard in 2023

A: Caleb always wants to do as much work as he can in one session. Over the few months I've worked with him, I feel he has shown a lot of growth not only in his math skills, but in his ability to recognize and accept his gaps in understanding, ask for help, and learn new approaches. He is always willing to try every problem and works hard to improve his understanding. - Ainsley

Q: What have you noticed about your student’s math ability this year?

A: Before we started Mathnasium, I noticed my son hesitated to love math; he was lacking foundational skills and confidence. Now, he will regularly say, "I know that!" when math comes up in our daily life (baking fractions, counting money, building with dad, etc.). - Caleb's Mom
