Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Alan M.

Lead Instructor
Alan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Illinois. After a long career in the insurance and reinsurance industries, he became a teacher. Since 2010, he has taught Math 5 through calculus to students in Grades 5 through 12. Alan is impressed by the way the curriculum has students gradually understand math concepts (that are sometimes elusive in the classroom at school), while more advanced students can find challenging material. Currently, Alan teaches middle-school math and science in the Twin Cities area. He lives in Minneapolis and spends much of his free time biking, swimming, reading, and playing volleyball and basketball.

Svetlana G.

Instructor
Svetlana is currently a student in MHS. She is excited to be able to work with students and help excel their math skills and abilities. She loves the way Mathnasium approaches learning and believes it sets up students for future success. In her free time, she places tennis, reads, and draws when she can.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
