Mathansium Learning Centers is excited to announce the opening of its 800th North American location this month!
“We are honored to have 800 North American centers open and still be growing stridently,” said Mathnasium co-founder and CEO Peter Markovitz. “This milestone reminds us of the impact we’re making on kids and families, helping them understand math and improve grades and test scores. Every new center we open is worth celebrating for this reason.”
The first Mathnasium Center opened fifteen years ago in Westwood, California, with the goal of helping children improve their math skills by designing customized learning plans to address the specific learning needs and goals of each child. Mathnasium’s proprietary teaching method was developed by veteran math educator and Mathnasium co-founder/Chief Instructional Officer Larry Martinek. “The Mathnasium Method™ helps solidify math foundations by utilizing sophisticated assessment tools to pinpoint and teach to the strengths and weaknesses unique to each student,” Martinek explained.
The mission to help kids understand math extends beyond the learning center doors. Mathnasium is a proud founding sponsor of the National PTA’s STEM + Families initiative and recently awarded $35,000 in grants to select schools through the National PTA to use in hosting local “Math Nights” designed to involve families in a fun, enjoyable, and shared math experience.
Mathnasium awards franchises to those with a strong desire to make a difference. “Passion doesn’t begin to describe the way that Mathnasium Franchisees feel about what they do,” said Markovitz. “Speak to them and you’ll learn the real reason why they wake up in the morning thrilled by the nature of the work they do. They speak unabashedly about changing the world—one child at a time.”
Mathnasium meets your child where they are and helps them with a customized program they need, for any level of mathematics.
