John became Center Director at Mathnasium of Oceanside in 2022, and brings a decade of Mathnasium experience to the team at Oceanside after starting his career in Escondido. Previous to working at Mathnasium he earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from California State University, San Marcos, and worked with children and teens in library programs as a volunteer. He has a passion for exploring factors and multiples with students as a wellspring of opportunities to think about how to solve problems.
He is proud to call the San Diego area his home since before he can remember. His interests outside of Mathnasium include classic movies, his cat and dog, collecting far too many books, and he recently took up playing the ukulele.

Q: What do you get when you cross a mountain climber with a mosquito?
A: Nothing- you cannot cross a scaler with a vector!
Izzy has a B.A. from Grinnell College where she attended as a Biochemistry major and Questbridge Scholar. From middle school she has experience helping others with math and in college held multiple class mentorship and T.A. roles. Izzy loves education and in another life would have pursued an education double major (it was not a program at Grinnell College at the time). Outside of educating students at mathnasium, Izzy likes to collect hobbies and has learned multiple fiber arts including crochet, knitting, weaving, and embroidery.
Nick graduated with a degree in Math and Economics. He enjoys working with students on any type of math. Outside of Mathnasium he likes to play basketball and watch movies.
Armando currently attends California State University, San Marcos, majoring in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. He enjoys sharing his passion for math with other students and watching students grow their mathematical skills. In his free time, Armando enjoys playing the guitar and soccer. In the future, Armando would like to work on nuclear fusion research.
Travis is a current student at California State University, San Marcos. Majoring in Computer Engineering, he has always enjoyed learning mathematics and logic subjects since middle school. Assisting students in their learning brings him joy in making a learning space that is safe and comfortable for all. Outside of school and work, he likes learning how to play the piano and to boulder, as well as spending too much time on the computer…
Kevin is currently studying at Palomar with the intent of transferring to Cal Poly Maritime Academy to pursue a degree in Mechancial Engineering. Outside of school and Mathnasium his interests include playing soccer or bouldering at the climbing gym.
