After graduating from St. Albans School, Jonathan earned his BA in Economics at Wake Forest University and his International MBA in a joint degree program between the University of South Carolina and the WirtschaftuniversitÓ“t Wien in Austria. With a background in economics and a career in finance spanning nearly 20 years, he knows the importance of building a strong foundation in math. As a runner and former lacrosse player, Jonathan was quickly drawn to the idea of developing math skills in much the same way that athletes train to perfect their physical abilities. Jonathan enjoys working with children and is currently a volunteer coach for his sons' lacrosse team.
Laura is excited to welcome children and parents to Mathnasium and help kids learn math in a way that makes sense to them! Currently raising three sons in Coral Gables, Laura understands the high value families in our community place on education. Laura graduated from Wake Forest University with a BS in Business and worked several years in software publishing. After discovering Mathnasium and opening their first center in 2014, Laura and her husband knew they had found the perfect way to combine their passion for children and education.
Daniela graduated from the University of Miami in 2014 with a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a Minor in Computer Science. She enjoys engaging in stimulating games and puzzles with kids as well as helping them develop a true love for Math. Daniela joined the Mathnasium team in 2015 as an Instructor and is now part of the Leadership Team. She feels her greatest accomplishment has been revolutionizing the way kids think about difficult Math concepts and seeing their confidence truly blossom as a result of their understanding.
Elizabeth has always had a passion for working with children and guiding them through their education. She attended Florida International University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She was a Program Director for ten years at the YMCA of South Florida and a MDPS Interventionist Teacher for three years.
Jenny has always had a passion for teaching. She believes there is more than one way to solve every problem, and loves helping children develop their own sense of problem solving and critical thinking. She graduated from the University of Miami, where she majored in Math and Sociology, and has been part of the Mathnasium team since 2013. She enjoys seeing the difference she makes in children's lives every day at Mathnasium.
Born and raised in Washington, Jessica graduated from Washington State University in 2014 with a BA in Elementary Education. She went on to teach Kindergarten as she pursued her MA in Curriculum and Instruction. In 2018, Jessica grew her passion for mathematics instruction as she became a K-6 Math Interventionist. Over the summer, she started working as a Lead Instructor at Mathnasium. As her husband was relocated to Miami for work, Jessica got the wonderful opportunity to continue with Mathnasium and grow her leadership skills as a Center Director. Jessica believes that anyone can be good at math, they just need the right strategies.
Matt is working towards a Master's of Accounting at Florida International University. He understands the importance of math proficiency both throughout a child's academic career as well as a foundation for future success and confidence. Matt walks into the center everyday excited to see our students and makes everyone's day fun and engaging!
Originally from the Boston area, Meg attended the University of Miami, where she triple majored in Mathematics, Gender Studies, and Political Science. She began working at Mathnasium as an Instructor during her first year of college and immediately knew that she had found her passion. Meg believes that the most important skill students gain at Mathnasium is confidence.
Tim graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in English and Minors in History and Classics. During his studies in History, he fell in love with Archaeology, moving to Sheffield, England to complete a MA in European Historical Archaeology in 2013. Upon completion, Tim moved back to teach the International Baccalaureate Program in Florida and Costa Rica. He has a passion for building students' confidence in learning, and believes it is important to find enjoyment in math in order for students to understand and retain the material.
Yeilin first joined Mathnasium as an Instructor in 2017 and became Program Director in 2019. She has honed her leadership and problem solving skills to ensure that kids are given the support they need to reach their full potential at our center. Yeilin has a BS in Chemistry with a Minor in Criminal Justice, as well as 10 years of experience working with and on behalf of children. She is excited to continue working with students at Mathnasium and seeing them reach their potential!
