Jacob Muller, Owner & Center Director
Jacob is the Owner & Center Director of Mathnasium. Jacob has worked in Mathnasium for two years previously moving to San Anselmo, and is very excited to show his passion for math in Marin County. Jacob was previously a competitive skier and also ski coach. He loves spending his time learning new things and teaching others. He is looking forward to sharing his love of math with the students and helping them learn to be more confident.
Lily T., Assistant Center Director
Lily is currently a graduate student studying quantum communications at the University of California, Berkeley. She belives that memorable lessons are the key to a quality math education. For instance, our term algebra is derived from the Arabic al-jabr, which was the term for setting and mending bones for centuries before the Persian mathmetician Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi applied it to his method of solving equations. Just as bones must be moved around before they can heal, so too must the terms of an equation be rearranged before you find a solution.
When not teaching math or learning about physics you can find Lily cooking or writing her next novel.

Dylan F., Lead Instructor
Dylan currently attends University of California, Berkeley and is pursuing a major in mathematics with a teaching concentration along with a m
inor in STEM education. He has had a life-long love for math and enjoys teaching new topics to students. In his free time, Dylan is a professional mountain bike racer and plays a lot of online chess with his friends. He also can solve a Rubik's cube in under 30 seconds!
Karen U., Instructor
Karen started her career after graduate school as a telecommunications engineer. She decided that talking to a computer all day wasn't her style and thus she went into teaching. She loves the interaction with the students and parents and finds joy in the success of the students. Karen also spent 10 years living in Spain and speaks Spanish and understands cultural differences. All three of her now adult children are fluent in Spanish and involved in math/engineering studies/careers.
