    • Summer Programs focus on academic growth, with personalized learning plans designed to help students catch up, keep up, or get ahead in math.

    • Summer Camps provide math enrichment through hands-on games and activities in a fun, social setting, making math exploration even more engaging.

Both options help prevent summer learning loss and make math enjoyable all season long!

  • Do all centers in Houston offer both the standard Summer Program and Summer Camp?

While many locations provide personalized Summer Programs, the availability of themed Summer Camps varies. Contact your local Mathnasium center to learn what summer options are available near you.

  • What do Mathnasium's summer programs look like?

Mathnasium's summer program in Houston runs from early June through late August, giving students a personalized, flexible math experience they can attend in-center or online on a schedule that works for their summer.

Each student begins with a diagnostic assessment. From there, we build a personalized learning plan targeting their current level, knowledge gaps, and goals for the school year ahead. Students attend sessions two to three times per week, receiving live, face-to-face instruction at every visit.

Every session follows the student's learning plan, so no time is spent on ground they've already covered. Some Houston centers also weave in hands-on activities, problem-solving challenges, and math games to keep things engaging.

Session packages and membership options vary by location, so please reach out to your nearest center to find out what's available this summer.

  • What do Mathnasium's summer camps look like?

Mathnasium Summer Camps, available at select Houston centers, pair focused math instruction with themed enrichment in a half-day format running Monday through Friday, typically from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Themes are set by each center and may include Robotics & Coding, Chess, LEGO® Building, STEAM Challenges, Financial Literacy, and more. Whatever the theme, every student continues working through their personalized Mathnasium learning plan during the instructional block. Here's what a typical camp day might look like:

  • What kind of math will my child be working on over the summer?

At Mathnasium, students can focus on the math concepts they need help with, test preparation, or simply enjoying new math challenges.

Each student’s Mathnasium journey starts with a diagnostic assessment that allows us to identify their needs and goals, and create a personalized learning plan that may include:

    • Foundational skills: Number sense, math facts, place value, fractions, decimals, and percentages

    • Pre-algebra and algebra: Expressions, equations, functions, and linear relationships

    • Geometry: Shapes, angles, area, volume, and coordinate geometry

    • Advanced topics: Algebra 2, precalculus, trigonometry, or statistics, for students in upper-level high school courses

    • Test prep: Math concepts covered on the SAT®, ACT®, PSAT®, or ISEE®, for students preparing for college entrance or private school admissions exams

It’s a focused way to build confidence and develop a deep understanding of math.

  • What is the Mathnasium Method™? How do you teach math?

The Mathnasium Method™ is our unique teaching approach that helps students truly understand and enjoy math.

We begin with a diagnostic assessment to create a personalized plan. Then, our tutors use mental, verbal, visual, tactile, and written teaching techniques to explain math in a way that makes sense. It’s all about building math mastery and lasting confidence.

  • What’s the difference between the in-center and online summer programs?

There is no difference between in-center and online summer programs at Mathnasium.

Whether your child attends sessions in one of our Houston centers or joins live, face-to-face instruction online, they’ll work with the same tutors, follow their personalized plan, and experience the same quality instruction.

  • When do Mathnasium's summer programs in Houston start and end?

Our summer programs usually run from early June through mid-August, but exact dates vary by location. We recommend contacting your nearest Houston Mathnasium center for their specific summer schedule.

  • How often should my child attend sessions during the summer?

We typically recommend 2 to 3 sessions per week. This pace allows students to maintain steady progress while leaving plenty of time for summer fun!

Your local center may adjust the schedule based on your child’s goals.

  • Can we schedule around vacations or other summer activities?

Absolutely! Our Summer Programs are built for flexibility. We’ll work with you to create a schedule that fits your family’s summer plans.

That said, our Summer Camps usually follow set weekly schedules, which may be less flexible, but many centers offer multiple sessions, giving you options.

  • What do Mathnasium's summer programs in Houston cost?

Pricing varies by center, program type, and your child's recommended session schedule. Some Houston centers offer summer session packages, while others work on a standard monthly membership basis. Summer Camp fees, where available, are typically priced per camp week and separate from the regular program cost.

Because pricing is set locally, we recommend reaching out to your nearest Houston center for current rates, available options, and any summer promotions. Our team will walk you through everything upfront so you know exactly what to expect.

  • What is included in the cost of the summer program?

Enrollment includes a diagnostic assessment, a personalized learning plan, and live face-to-face instruction in a caring and fun group environment. Students also have access to the interactive activities and hands-on learning tools that make math engaging and meaningful throughout the summer.

Some centers include extras like snacks.

Your local Houston center can give you the full picture of what's included at your nearest location.

  • What can I expect my child to achieve by the end of the program?

By the end of Mathnasium’s Summer Program, most students show noticeable growth in their understanding of core math concepts, along with improved speed and accuracy in their calculations. But the benefits go beyond just numbers.

In addition to enhanced Number Sense, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, many parents also see a meaningful shift in mindset as kids become more engaged, less anxious about math, and more eager to tackle tough problems.

Depending on a student’s goals and how often they attend sessions, results may include catching up to grade level, getting ahead, or gaining a confident head start on upcoming school material.

  • How can my student enroll for Mathnasium’s summer programs?
