Utah Fits All (UFA) is a statewide, universal education savings account program that gives Utah families public funds to spend on the education path that works best for their child, whether that's private school, homeschooling, tutoring, or a combination of services.
Every K-12 Utah student is eligible to apply, regardless of income or current school setting. The program is administered by Odyssey, which manages applications, fund disbursement, and the list of approved vendors, including Mathnasium.
All K-12 students living in Utah are eligible to apply for the UFA scholarship, regardless of their current school type (public, private, homeschool, or virtual). There are no income restrictions to apply, which means every Utah family has the opportunity to participate, but accepted students must unenroll from full-time public or charter schools to participate.
That said, priority is given to lower-income families during the selection process, so students with the greatest financial need are served first. However, additional spots are awarded on a lottery basis, so it's important for all interested families to apply, even if they don't meet the priority criteria.
Applying for UFA is managed through the Odyssey portal.
Here's how to get started:
Create an account. Visit the Odyssey application portal and set up a parent account.
Choose a learning path. You'll select either a private school or home-based track as part of your application.
Gather your documents. You'll need proof of Utah residency, your child's birth certificate, and income documentation if you're applying under a priority tier.
Submit during the application window. Renewals typically open March 1 and new applications open April 1, with the window closing at the end of April.
Official award notifications for families will be issued on June 16.
For the most accurate timeline and requirements, visit the Odyssey portal or the Utah Fits All program website directly.
The Utah Fits All (UFA) scholarship provides up to $8,000 per student, per school year.
Award amounts depend on your child's learning path. Students enrolled full-time in a private school can receive up to $8,000 per year. Home-based students receive $4,000 per year (ages 5–11) or $6,000 per year (ages 12–18).
Funds are deposited into a digital ESA that families can use for approved expenses throughout the school year.
UFA scholarship funds can be used for a wide range of qualified education expenses, including but not limited to:
Tutoring services, such as Mathnasium
Private school tuition
Homeschooling curriculum
Textbooks
Standardized test prep
Online learning platforms
Educational software
Therapies related to academic needs
Families can also use funds for items and services that support a customized learning path, as long as they fall under the program’s guidelines. Because Mathnasium is an approved provider, parents can confidently allocate UFA funds to help their child strengthen math skills, improve performance, and build long-term confidence in math.
Yes! One of the most powerful aspects of the UFA scholarship is its flexibility. You are not limited to choosing just one type of service. As long as the services and providers are on the approved list, you can combine offerings to create a full, personalized learning plan.
For example, many families use part of their funds for curriculum and educational supplies, and the rest for tutoring support from providers like Mathnasium. This flexible, mix-and-match approach can cover every aspect of your child's education, academically, logistically, and emotionally.

Once your funds are set up, your local team handles the details so you can focus on your child's sessions.
Documentation requirements may vary slightly depending on how the payment is processed.
Typically, you’ll need to submit a service invoice or proof of enrollment from your Mathnasium center. This will detail the tutoring sessions, program dates, and associated costs.
