Specially Trained and Caring Team
Helen
Assistant Center Director
Helen is a second-year college student majoring in Biology with a deep appreciation for math that goes back to her own days as a Mathnasium student. That firsthand experience with personalized instruction shapes how she works with students today. Outside the center, she enjoys crocheting and playing guitar.
Having seen what the right support can do for a student's relationship with math, Helen brings both genuine enthusiasm and personal understanding to every session.
Genadya
Instructor
Genadya is a senior at El Camino Real High School whose favorite subject to tutor is, naturally, math. She understands that every student learns differently and is committed to finding the right approach to make even challenging concepts feel clear. Outside the center, she enjoys baking, spending time outdoors, and listening to music.
At Mathnasium, Genadya hopes to do more than share knowledge. She wants every student to leave a session feeling more confident and genuinely excited about math.
Kara
Instructor
Kara is a junior at Oaks Christian High School enrolled in the school's engineering program. She knows firsthand what it feels like to be a student juggling a demanding schedule and challenging material, and she draws on that experience to make math feel less overwhelming and more approachable. Art, music, and time outdoors at the beach or on hiking trails keep her grounded outside of school.
At Mathnasium, Kara is committed to bringing positivity and a fresh perspective to every student she works with.
Nicholas
Instructor
Nick is a sophomore splitting his time between Moorpark and Pierce College, where he studies Computer Science. He is heavily involved with the engineering and math departments at both institutions. He believes that math is one of the most worthwhile pursuits one can undertake and wants to share that understanding with the students at Mathnasium. Outside of STEM and academic studies, he is an avid hiker and photographer, providing a break from the rigor and order of math and science. He hopes that, with his help, the students at Mathnasium can see math as the beautiful, interconnected, symphony of logic that he does.
Students can take 3 easy steps to enroll at Mathnasium.
All students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that pinpoints what they already know and what they still need to learn.
