Mathnasium Students Unite to Support Hurricane Victims

Sep 26, 2017

Mathnasium franchisees, J. Steve "Javi" and Karen Santacruz, are proud to announce that they will be donating $3,000 in the name of their students to help the victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.

Students from six Mathnasium Learning Centers owned by the Santacruz family joined together to contribute to the hurricane relief effort by donating reward cards. Mathnasium students earn reward cards by successfully completing their work and exhibiting respectful behavior toward others during their learning sessions. Cards are "turned in" for prizes in the Centers. For the hurricane relief effort, each card was given a value of $1. Mathnasium students from the Chicagoland area (Glenview, Kenilworth and Lake Forest) and from Orange County, California (Dana Point, Laguna Niguel and San Clemente) pooled their resources to raise $1,500 towards the hurricane relief effort. Mathnasium was proud to be able to match their donations dollar for dollar for a total contribution of $3,000.

"What a great effort from our kids," said Javi. "We are proud of the generosity of our students who donated their hard-earned reward cards to raise money to help those in need."
