• Where is Mathnasium of Park Slope located?

  We are convenienly located on 7th Ave between 2nd and 3rd streets. We are just a block away from P.S. 321, a few blocks away from Presbyterian Hospital, and right next door to United States Postal Service on 7th Avenue, Brooklyn. 

  We proudly serve families in Brooklyn neighborhoods including, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, South Slope, Windsor Terrace, Gowanus, Clinton Hill, Crown Heights, and surrounding communities.

• Does Mathnasium of Park Slope offer online tutoring?

  Yes, Mathnasium of Park Slope provides both in-center and online tutoring.   

  All our students receive caring face-to-face instruction in a fun small-group environment, whether they attend in person or log in virtually. 

• Is there a difference between online and in-person tutoring?

  No, the experience is designed to be consistent across both formats.  

  Online students follow the same customized learning plans and work directly with the specially trained tutors they would meet at our Brooklyn center. 

• What math classes can your Park Slope tutors help with?

  Mathnasium’s specially trained tutors can help students learn and master any K-12 math class or topic, from basic arithmetic through Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, and advanced high school math.   

  We follow learning plans that are tailored to each student’s unique learning needs and style, so they can receive focused instruction and make meaningful progress toward their goals. 

• What does mathematics tutoring cost at Mathnasium of Park Slope?

  Mathnasium of Park Slope provides premium value through a flat monthly membership and a one-time enrollment fee.

• Is there a difference between the cost of online and in-center math tutoring?

  No. Our pricing is the same for online, in-center, or hybrid learning formats. 

• Why do you require an assessment for enrollment?

  At Mathnasium of Park Slope, students begin the enrollment process with a diagnostic assessment designed to help us identify their learning style, needs, and goals.   

  Using assessment-based insights, we create a learning plan that will help them truly understand and even start to enjoy math, making meaningful progress at their own pace. 

• How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of Park Slope, we do not follow a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Instead, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines personalized learning plans with proven instructional techniques to help students truly understand and even enjoy math. 

  Using this approach, our specially trained math tutors meet students where they are in math and introduce new concepts step-by-step, in a logical sequence.  

  As students begin to close their knowledge gaps and strengthen their foundational skills, math begins to click. They learn new tactics and gradually transform how they think and feel about the subject. 

• Do you work with advanced students or students who are struggling with math?

  Both! We support students of all skill levels, whether they are looking to catch up, keep up, or are ready to get ahead on their math journey. 

  Students who are struggling with math receive caring, targeted instruction to (re)build foundational skills and confidence. Advanced learners enjoy personalized enrichment opportunities designed to challenge their thinking and deepen their understanding. 

• Do you work with homeschooled students in Brooklyn?

  Absolutely! We welcome homeschool students from Brooklyn and surrounding neighborhoods. Our customized approach works well for families seeking supplemental instruction or structured math enrichment. 

• Do you help students with their homework?

  Yes, homework help is included in our sessions. Our tutors set aside time to help with assignments so students can reinforce the concepts they are covering at school and reduce stress at home. 

• Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

  No, all learning takes place during sessions, either in-center or online. We do not assign additional homework, so students stay focused and productive during their time with us. 

• Does Mathnasium of Park Slope prepare students for math on standardized tests?

  Yes, Mathnasium of Park Slope prepares students for school-based and standardized math tests, including state assessments, ACT®, and SAT®.  

  Our test prep includes personalized learning plans, targeted practice, and strategies to build both skills and test-taking confidence.
